Oakland County Parks is focused on environmental leadership, action and practice in the community. Staff is available as a resource for local governments and the public to advise in their areas of expertise and assist homeowners, municipal employees, non-profit organizations and educational institutions in implementation of best practices.

Winter Solstice Forest Therapy Walk

Rest and refresh on a winter solstice forest therapy walk

Blend the slow, meditative practice of forest bathing with a celebration of the advent of winter. A certified forest therapy guide will lead an outdoor walk to mark the longest night of the year and the return of the light. Disconnect from daily demands and enter into a deep connection with nature.

This program is suitable for adults. Cost is $20/person. Preregistration required. Registration is available online.

  • Participants should dress in warm layers for the weather as the walk will be held outdoors
  • Details regarding the Lyon Oaks meeting place will be emailed to registered participants prior to the walk
