There is always something happening at Oakland County Parks! Mark your calendar for these upcoming events and be sure to register early (where applicable) as programs do tend to fill up quickly. Event details and links to additional information will be posted below as they become available.
Fireworks and Flannels
Light the Night Flannel 5K
The race evening begins with the opening of the lighted trail at 5 p.m. Friday, Feb. 13 at Waterford Oaks County Park. After the race, enjoy a cozy bonfire, hot cocoa and a quiet night under the stars.
The Light the Night Flannel 5K is out and back on paved and unpaved surfaces. View the race map. The event takes place when there is inclement weather and often snow, so please plan appropriately. Leashed dogs are allowed.
Race cost is $28/person. Each participant will receive a race beanie, medal and drink ticket for the Sat., Feb. 14 beer tent, part of the Fireworks and Flannels Cozy Night Out event.
McLaren Oakland is the Presenting Sponsor for the Light the Night Flannel 5K.

Cozy Night Out
Bundle up for Fireworks and Flannels Cozy Night Out from 4-8 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 14 at Waterford Oaks County Park. This is a free event, no registration necessary.
The schedule includes:
- 4-7 p.m. - Horse-drawn wagon rides and petting farm with pony rides
- 4-8 p.m. - Live music, food trucks, beer tent, sledding hill (weather permitting), face painting, winter games, crafts and an illuminated walking path
- 8 p.m. - Fireworks launch
Trek Pontiac is a Major Sponsor and Waterford Oaks BMX is an Event Sponsor for Fireworks and Flannels Cozy Night Out.

Illuminated Walking Path
After Fireworks and Flannels comes to a close, continue to enjoy the Illuminated Walking Path. The path will be open from 5:30-8:30 p.m. Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays Feb. 20-22 and Feb. 27-March 1.
Novels and Neighbors 
Dive into a day made for grown-up book lovers, featuring local authors, independent bookstores, and all-things literary during Novels and Neighbors from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday, March 21 at the Pleasant Ridge Community Center, 4 Ridge Road in Pleasant Ridge.
Enjoy engaging book discussions, treat your shelf to new reads, craft your own book-inspired creations and explore unique literary merchandise.
