Waterford Oaks Event Center is conveniently located in the heart of Oakland County in Waterford Oaks County Park and easily accessible via several major thoroughfares.

The event center features an independent entrance, large event space and warming kitchen area. Customers can select from different setup options, then "DIY" the space or bring in vendors of their choice. There is capacity for up to 200 people based on the setup selected. The event center does not provide food or beverages so customers must provide their own or hire an outside vendor.

In addition, while there is no dedicated dance floor, space for dancing can be accommodated in specific setup options. Customers are not allowed to bring in a dance floor.

The setup versatility of Waterford Oaks Event Center makes it the perfect venue for special occasions like graduation parties, anniversary celebrations and baby showers on the weekend, as well as a community space for local club meetings, school banquets and business gatherings throughout the week.

Weekend (Friday-Sunday)

• $1,800 for entire weekend

• $1,000 per day

Weekday (Monday-Thursday)

• $600 per day

• $500 refundable security deposit (in addition to the rental fee)

• Rental fee and security deposit are due at time of reservation - no holds. Credit card, cash or check only made payable to Oakland County Parks

• Rentals are up to 8 hours, including setup and take-down. Weekday rental times are 9 a.m.-10 p.m.; weekend rental availability is 9 a.m.-11 p.m. Start time must be specified with Oakland County Parks staff at time of reservation

• Rental fee includes:
  • Event space, restrooms and kitchen area
  • Access to site on the day of the event
  • Furnishings:
    • Banquet chairs
    • 5-foot round banquet tables (each seats eight guests)
    • 8-foot long banquet tables
  • Facility Amenities
    • Ice Machine
    • Refrigerator
    • Warming Kitchen (no on-site food preparation or washing of equipment allowed)
    • Coffee Maker
    • Microwave (non-commercial)
    • Limited AV equipment, including projector with HDMI input connection and PA/Microphone. Sound system cannot be used for DJ equipment or playing music.
  • Space is rented as is. All services must be arranged by the customer

Room Accessibility

• The facility is available beginning at 9 a.m. on the reserved date unless otherwise approved by Oakland County Parks staff

• A one-day rental is for up to eight (8) hours including setup and tear down. Start time must be specified with Oakland County Parks staff at time of reservation

• For three-day rental events:
  • Friday - The facility is available between 8 a.m. and 9 p.m, Start and end times must be specified with Oakland County Parks staff at time of reservation
  • Saturday - The facility is available for up to eight (8) hours from 9 a.m.-11 p.m. Start and end times must be specified with Oakland County Parks staff at time of reservation
  • Sunday - The facility is available for tear down of the event for a four (4) hour window between the hours of 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Start and end times must be specified with Oakland County Parks staff at time of reservation

• Events held on Friday and Saturday must end by 11 p.m. with the building and park vacated, including all possessions

• Events held Sunday through Thursday must end by 10 p.m. with the building and park vacated, including all possessions

Capacity

Waterford Oaks Event Center has capacity for up to 200 people.

Food

• The event center does not provide food or beverages so customers must provide their own or hire an outside vendor
• The kitchen area has a designated space for staging. Use of facilities for cooking or washing equipment is not permitted

Parking

Parking is located adjacent to the event space off of Watkins Lake Road. There is sufficient parking for more than 100 vehicles on weekends and approximately 50 vehicles weekdays when parks staff is on site.

Insurance Requirements

Insurance(s) will need to be provided for the following:

• If the reservation/event is for a wedding
• If the reservation is booked by an organized entity/group and not an individual
• If alcohol will be consumed (not sold) at the event
• If alcohol will be sold at the event (subject to approval by the Oakland County Parks)

• Coffee makers
• Fabric or garlands draped over beams
• Battery powered candles
• Rope and twine
• Zip ties

These items are not allowed

Use of any of these items will result in the forfeiture of the security deposit:

• Candles or open flames of any kind
• Helium balloons
• Nails or tacks
• Glue guns
• Confetti/glitter/rice/aerosol string products like Silly String/shimmer spray
• Streamers
• Space heaters
• Portable AC units or space heaters
• Sparklers/fireworks/paper lanterns
• Duct, packaging, masking or adhesive tape, like Scotch tape
• Adhesive hanging strips, such as Command Strips
• Fog machines (dry ice)
• Dance floors
• Any type of cooking appliance such as griddles, hot plates, air fryers, toaster ovens, etc. 

Alcohol and Smoking

• Liquor Liability Insurance is required for any event where alcohol is consumed

• All state laws and state regulations regarding the serving of alcoholic beverages and food must be followed

• Underage drinking will not be tolerated and will result in the event being terminated immediately

• Smoking and vaping are not permitted inside any Oakland County Parks facilities
