Refresh and Renew Forest Therapy Walk
Nurture your well-being as you experience the physical and mental health benefits of forest bathing from 10 a.m.-noon July 16 at Highland Oaks County Park Nature Area. During this nature wellness series, participants will enjoy the benefits of forest therapy, a slow restorative walk in a natural setting that follows a standard sequence of elements.
Other sessions in this series include:
- June 26, 7-9 p.m. – Summer Sunset Forest Therapy Walk at Rose Oaks County Park Nature Area
- Aug. 28, 6:30-8:30 p.m. – Dusk to Dark Forest Therapy Walk at Oak Park Woods
Cost is $15/person/session. Online registration with payment required.

Archery Hunting
Archery hunting for white-tailed deer (with some limitations) is allowed in this park, hunting locations and rules are listed in the individual park archery maps. No parks allow firearm hunting.

About
Located within the Shiawassee River headwaters, Highland Oaks Nature Park protects sensitive habitat while providing recreation experiences. The park’s 302 acres of rolling hills, wetlands and old pastures offers 2.5 miles of trails for hiking, horseback riding, geocaching and cross-country skiing, as well as fishing from an accessible floating dock. Archery deer hunting is allowed in designated areas. Equestrian trailer parking is on North Milford Road, ½ mile north of White Lake Road. A second parking lot is located off Milford Road.
