Outdoor Discovery Camps are week-long summer day camp experiences that immerse  children age 6-11 in the wonders of nature.

Available at several Oakland County Parks locations, each week focuses on a different nature theme with unique daily outdoor activities guided by park naturalists. Sign your camper up for a week or the whole summer!

Engaging learning experiences 

Campers will enjoy hiking adventures, create nature-based projects, and gain a sense of belonging in nature education the natural world. Depending on the camp location, campers will experience a variety of outdoor recreation experiences like kayaking, canoeing, archery, fishing, biking, climbing, orienteering and more.

Outdoor Discovery Camps are offered in partnership with MSU Extension.

Registration details nature education

Registration begins mid-February for 2026 summer sessions. Check back soon for information and a link to register.

Camps run mid-June through mid-August, Monday-Friday from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Aftercare options will be available.
