Marianne Huff, President & CEO of the Mental Health Association of Michigan

Marianne Huff, LMSW, is President and CEO of Mental Health Association in Michigan (MHAM). Marianne has more than 20 years of leadership experience, including 12 years of executive-level staff leadership and advocacy within the behavioral health field. Marianne has a passion for improving the lives of people affected by mental health conditions and their families and is an advocate for changes in public policy and legislation that will positively impact on the care and treatment of people with mental illnesses. Prior to her leadership roles at MHAM, Marianne served as the Executive Director of Allegan County Community Mental Health Services for six years and as the Director of Advocacy for the Ability Center of Greater Toledo in Sylvania, Ohio. Additionally, as an Advocate at the Michigan Protection and Advocacy Service, Marianne helped individuals and families access mental health services. Marianne uses her lived experience to optimistically and passionately lead, advocate and educate to improve the lives of those who struggle with behavioral health challenges and eliminate barriers to the timely and effective treatment of severe mental illness.
Mike Giordano, Law Enforcement Officer Troy Police Department

Mike Giordano is a Police Officer with more than 25 years of experience. Mike's skillful report writing and conflict de-escalation have had proven ability to build relationships and foster trust within diverse communities while developing effective strategies to enhance public safety. His former role as a Behavioral Specialist, supporting students with behavioral needs has assisted him in protecting and serving the most vulnerable populations in his current position as an Officer with the Troy Police Department.
Hillary Nusbaum, LMSW, CFRC - Co-Responder Supervisor Oakland Community Health Network

Hilary Nusbaum, a Clinical Social Worker and Certified First Responder, has been providing private practice for almost 10 years, serving children and families suffering from adverse childhood experiences (trauma), anxiety, emotional disturbance, and stress management. Through advocacy and therapeutic services, work with youth and adults in the LGBTIA+ communities, helping to empower and find strength i identities.
In her current position, as CIT Co-Responder Supervisor for Oakland Community Health Network, Hillary supports her team of crisis intervention co-responders as they navigate the challenges of helping individuals experiencing mental health crises and domestic disputes and alleviating problems related to wellness checks, suicide attempts, homelessness, family challenges, and more. Hillary's motivation for working in public service was her admiration for her stepfather, a former public safety director. She fused the admiration of her role model with her passion and education to lead her work in reconciliation.
Gigi Colombini, Licensed Clinical Therapist, Founder & Executive Director Institute 4 Hope and Human Flourishing

Gigi Colombini is a Clinical Social Worker who, since 1990, has focused her passion on suicide prevention and crisis intervention. Throughout her professional journey, Ms. Colombini has worked and supervised as a Crisis Counselor, lead and facilitated with numerous grief groups, lead CISM (Critical Incident Stress Management) trauma teams, and various community efforts throughout Southeast MI. She currently has an outpatient clinic in Bloomfield Hills, MI.
As an expert in the field of suicide prevention, Ms. Colombini has provided extensive education to youth and adults, in many business and community settings. Working with the State of Michigan and University of MI, she has developed, implemented and evaluated a continuity of care/family support intervention designed to enhance the safety and support of high risk youth following a suicidal emergency. The Holding On To Life Youth Suicide Prevention program, has received attention from professional institutions such as the Michigan Department of Community Health, and the National Institute for Mental Health. She has consulted on programs for Harvard, Dartmouth, the University of Michigan, and the National Action Alliance for Suicide Prevention. Having lost loved ones to suicide herself, she is honored to be a member of Kevin’s Song Board of Directors and has dedicated much of her life’s work to suicide prevention.
Stephanie Huhn, Executive Director

Stephanie is a masters‐level psychologist in the state of Michigan who specializes in trauma, addiction & the brain. She is an advocate, speaker & education-enthusiast who is deeply passionate about sharing her personal & professional knowledge and experiences with others in order to inspire and promote healing, growth, compassion and change. Stephanie has an innate ability to connect with others through all forms of communication - both with large and small groups, virtually and in person. She also holds special interests in complex and developmental trauma, addiction, substance abuse and neuroscience and she has presented and written on these topics. She is a Certified Brain Injury Specialist, a Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor, a Certified Case Manager and an Advanced Certified Complex Trauma Specialist.
