Dr. Adam Shammami

Dr. Adam Shammami has an academic appointment at Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine and is a faculty physician at the Corewell Health Family Medicine Residency Program in Sterling Heights. In 2002, Dr. Shammami attended Wayne State University where he received his Bachelors of Science degree in radiation therapy technology. He later obtained his medical degree from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine. After completing his residency, Dr. Shammami developed an interest in addition medicine and has practiced in both inpatient residential treatment center and outpatient addiction center.

In 2018, he was the recipient of substantial grant funding to develop a substance use disorder (SUD) clinic at the Family Medicine Center. Dr. Shammami serves as the SUD clinic Medical Director. He also co-leads several committees at his institution for expansion of SUD services within the community.
