The S.A.V.E. (Serving Adults who are Vulnerable and/or Elderly) Task Force is a coalition of agencies and community organizations assisting vulnerable and/or elderly adults in Oakland County by increasing awareness about elder abuse. S.A.V.E. provides education and community outreach to public and private entities on abuse, exploitation, and prevention, and provides networking opportunities to share data and resources.

Originally launched in 2005, S.A.V.E has hosted town hall meetings, published information, and conducted trainings for citizens and professionals who want to know more about identifying and reporting elder abuse. In 2025 S.A.V.E. began forming an Enhanced Multidisciplinary Team to review individual cases, to 1) help victims of older adult abuse with obtaining supportive services, and 2) better understand the risk factors and types of older adult abuse occurring in Oakland County.

Anyone interested in learning more about S.A.V.E. Task Force should contact Genessa Doolittle at the Oakland County Health Division.

If you suspect that someone is being abused or neglected, make an anonymous report to Adult Protective Services at 1-855-444-3911. If you are not sure, call and talk with a professional who can guide you. S.A.V.E. encourages medical professionals, clergy, neighbors, and friends to be alert and to report suspected abuse and neglect.
