Connection and disconnection permit applications and fees for water and sewer systems, as well as water hauling permits, are processed through our office at One Public Works, Building 95W, Waterford, MI 48328.

We serve several cities, villages, and townships in Oakland County. Contact your local community to obtain permits and learn about the requirements for water or sewer construction in your area.

Service Connections and Permits

Appointments are required for new water connection permits and water meter pick up. You will be contacted to schedule an appointment to make payment and pick up your meter once your application is received. All payments must be made in-person at our office, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Water Hauling Permits

Surety Bond Information

Contractors connecting or disconnecting to sanitary or combined sewers, interceptors and any county drain work must be bonded, and the following documentation must be on file:

  • Current $5,000 surety bond
  • Liability insurance naming our office as additional insured must be on file

The surety bond is valid for one year and can be renewed by the bonding agent. The original continuation certificate must be submitted at the time of renewal.
