Civil/Criminal Division
- Emergency matters involving a civil or criminal case should be efiled and parties should contact the chambers of the assigned judge in the manner outlined in the assigned judges protocol.

FAQs about Custody and Parenting Time During the COVID-19 Outbreak
- Personal Protection Orders
- During the COVID-19 Emergency Petitions for Personal Protection Orders are to be emailed to PPO@oakgov.com. Go to Michigan Legal Help to Complete PPO Petition. In addition include your Verified Statement and if you have a child with the respondent the Parenting Time Worksheet.
- All forms must be signed by petitioner. For information on signing a petition saved as a PDF visit Adobe.
- Call 248-303-1534 for questions regarding PPO forms, motions, and how to file documents in PPO cases. The PPO office staff cannot tell you the status of a pending PPO petition nor why a PPO request was denied. Staff cannot give legal advice.
- Domestic and Friend of the Court
- Petitions for Emergency Custody or Parenting Time Orders are to be efiled and parties should contact the chambers of the assigned judge.
- If you have general questions regarding your case please contact the chambers of the assigned judge in the manner indicated by the judges protocol.

Jury Service
Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic - it’s very important that all jurors follow the reporting instructions, located on your Jury Summons, to receive the most updated information available regarding your jury service.
If you are feeling ill, are experiencing COVID symptoms, or are awaiting COVID testing results on your reporting date, please do not enter the Courthouse.
Rather, contact the Court, using the information provided on your Jury Summons, to request your jury service to be deferred.
It is recommended that jurors wear a mask in the courthouse, unless a judge specifies otherwise. All jurors must bring their juror badge, which is located on their jury summons, when reporting for jury service.
Due to social distancing requirements, we ask that only jurors arrive for jury service. Please do not have friends or family accompany you while serving.
Video Viewing Requests
Video viewing requests have been suspended until further notice. Emergency requests may be sent to the chambers of the assigned judge.
