TAPPING GLOBAL TALENT

Hiring skilled immigrants to strengthen your workforce and gain a competitive advantage

FEBRUARY 18, 2025 | 10:00-11:30 AM

As employers across our region grapple with building a skilled workforce, they are tapping the skilled immigrant population for answers. This strategy makes sense, considering foreign-born immigrants already make up 23 percent of the U.S. workforce in high-demand STEM* fields, which include scientists, engineers, information technology and healthcare workers, according to the American Immigration Council.

Join us for our next virtual workshop, including a special panel discussion, on how organizations can leverage skilled immigrants to strengthen their teams and separate themselves from the competition. Learn about the value of a diverse workforce, how to attract and hire skilled immigrants, and the long-term benefits of employing such a strategy in today’s fight for talent.

WORKSHOP HIGHLIGHTS:

  • See how skilled immigrants fill critical shortages in many occupational fields through Oakland County’s Skilled Immigrant Integration Program and other initiatives
  • Learn how different cultures and professional experiences of skilled immigrants foster creativity, innovation and problem-solving
  • Explore how skilled immigrants can boost an organization’s productivity, cultural competence and inclusivity
  • Review the steps involved in effectively integrating skilled immigrants into your organization The special panel includes Danila Martinez, Human Resources Manager North America, AdduXI Group; a recent skilled immigrant new hire; and two current skilled immigrant job seekers.
