Employee Development Opportunities for CVTs (Local Communities)
To foster intergovernmental collaboration, Oakland County Human Resources offers affordable training courses to local communities for their employees. These courses are designed to help organizations discover new and innovative approaches to improving efficiency while maintaining or enhancing current service levels.
Current Rates
- Half-day in-person sessions $90
- Full-day in-person sessions $125
- E-Learning $50 annual fee for unlimited courses
- Hundreds of professional development courses through Workday and Skillsoft Percipio
Instructor-Led Courses
We offer up to 40 professional development courses that encompass the following competency areas: Interpersonal, Collaboration, Self-Management, Leadership, and Management/Supervisory skills. Most of our courses are offered twice a year as either half-day or full-day courses.
e-Learning Courses
e-Learning courses serve as an excellent supplement to classroom training, offering immediate access to knowledge and skill development. With hundreds of courses available, you can learn at your own pace and from the convenience of your computer. Our e-Learning offerings are powered by Skillsoft, a trusted partner and global leader in high-quality, cloud-based learning solutions.
Course Location
Our training courses are generally held at our Executive Office building 41W, 2100 Pontiac Lake Rd. Waterford, MI. 48328, unless otherwise noted.
Hosting a Session
Oakland County's goal is to work with local communities to provide training courses to their employees at a low cost to individual municipalities. If it is not conducive for your staff to attend training on-site, we are able to travel to local municipalities that express an interest in hosting our training courses. Please contact us for costs and guidelines. A Request to Hosting Agreement form must be sent to us to review you organization's request. A member of our team will reach out to the main contact on the request for more details.
