Every year, Main Street Oakland County (MSOC) provides its Main Street Communities the opportunity to request annual technical assistance and project support to enhance their downtown district or historic neighborhood commercial corridor. MSOC provides both local and national consultants, along with some financial support, to fulfill the technical request.
To best serve the MSOC communities — with strategies that are achievable, impactful, and transformative — we ask for some information to be submitted to MSOC, as your organization’s partner in assessing and determining an effective ) Technical Assistance & Project Support Request.
ELIGIBLE TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE & PROJECT SUPPORT ACTIVITIES
Eligible requests may fall in any of the following categories, as examples, and can be multi-year or phased projects:
REQUIREMENTS
To be eligible for a MSOC Technical Support/ Tech Visit Request, the following items must be completed and/or attached to the application:
1. Current Main Street America Network Membership
2. Quarterly statistics are up to date with MSOC
3. Resolution of Support or meeting minutes from Board: A formal approval from the governing body for the requested technical assistance
4. The technical assistance being funded must be completed by March 2, 2026.
5. Detailed project timeline with list of any deliverables to be submitted at the completion of the project or program
FUNDING
Main Street Oakland County will provide Technical Assistance and Project Support per Main Street Community on an annual basis. Additional funding may be required from the community or organization depending upon the size, scope, and cost of the request. Tech Assistance projects may be multifaceted and address more than one topic at a time—assuming service stays within given budget.
