Application

The IDSO is always happy to accept applications to our felony attorney roster. Applications are reviewed quarterly by the Criminal Assignment Committee.

To apply, please use the following URL, which will take you to a Microsoft Forms link where you can complete and submit your application. After submitting the application, you must notify the IDSO by sending an email to idso@oakgov.com. If you do not notify the IDSO that you have submitted the application, it may not be reviewed.

Current roster attorneys wishing to have their category level increased should fill out and submit the attorney application form. Reclassifications are not consider new applications, but the information provided on the application form will help determine whether the reclassification will be approved.

Criminal Assignment Committee

The felony appointment system is overseen by the IDSO, in conjunction with the Criminal Assignment Committee (CAC). This committee is comprised of 11 members:

The Chief Attorney of the IDSO, five attorneys appointed by the OCBA President, and five Judges appointed by the Circuit Court Bench. The five Judges are non-voting members of the committee.

The current Judicial members are: Hon. Martha Anderson, Hon. Cheryl Matthews, Hon. Yasmine Poles, Hon. Kwamé Rowe, and Hon. Victoria Valentine.

The current attorney members are: Emily Long, Michael McCarthy, Mitchell Ribitwer, Layne Sakwa, and J. Randall Secontine.

Second Chair Appointments

The IDSO supports the use of "Second Chairs" under certain circumstances. Please review this description of when a second chair may be appropriate.
