Sam Miller has based his career on public service and strengthening trust between law enforcement and communities across Michigan.

In his current role as the deputy chief of investigations with the Michigan Department of Attorney General, Miller leads the Criminal Investigations Division with five specialized sections: financial crimes, special investigations, major cases, executive protection and felony non-support. When he was first hired, he was appointed as the department’s first Michigan Law Enforcement Accreditation Program (MLEAP) Accreditation Manager, helping to make it the first state law enforcement agency in Michigan to receive the designation.

Additionally, Miller is a volunteer member of the Security Advisory Committee for Jewish Community Security, Inc., where he provides public safety and emergency preparedness expertise.

A Huntington Woods resident, Miller earned his bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from Michigan State University as well as graduated from Lansing Community College’s Mid-Michigan Police Academy and Northwestern University School of Police Staff & Command.
