Oakland County Medical Examiner data show a 37 percent decrease in overdose deaths in 2024 compared to 2023. In addition, data from a national EMS database revealed a 13.3 percent decline in local EMS responses to non-fatal overdoses during the same period.

The Board of Commissioners approved a total of $635,000 to conduct the after-action report to review and evaluate the collective response. The findings in the report will be reviewed and discussed at an upcoming Public Health & Safety Committee meeting.
