COVID-19 Emergency Probate Court Information

Online applications will be down Saturday, July 9th, 2022, between the hours of 12:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. for necessary maintenance.

Basic Training Zoom Guardianship Classes scheduled for February 9, 2022 have been cancelled. Classes will resume March 9, 2022.
The Oakland County Probate Court will be open for in-person filing on July 6, 2021. We will be accepting filings in-person at the Probate Court Clerk's Office, by mail, or by fax. The fax number is (248) 452-2016. Any filing that requires a fee must be paid at the time of filing. Filings that require a filing fee will not be accepted by fax after July 9, 2021. No filings by email will be accepted after July 9, 2021. The probate drop box will be removed and no longer available for filing. If you live in the Tri-County area (Oakland, Wayne, and Macomb Counties) and you are required to file Annual Accounts, you must file them in person at the Probate Court counter.
The filing counter will be open Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. For same day processing, you will need to be in line no later than 3:30 p.m.  The Probate Court does not accept appointments. Please be advised that except for emergency matters, orders and/or letters of authority may not be immediately available for pick-up from the probate counter following your hearing.  Please allow 24-48 hours for matters to be processed.
If you currently have or if you receive a Notice of Hearing that states that your hearing will be held remotely with instructions, your hearing will be held remotely unless you receive other direction from the court. Please visit your assigned Judge's protocol on this website to obtain his/her chamber's remote hearing information.
To promote the timely filing and processing of documents, if your pleading has more than 50 pages, the Oakland County Probate Court would prefer the document be sent to the court via regular mail.
