About These Events

The Oakland County Veterans Resource Fairs are open to all veterans, active duty, guard and reserves, and their families.

Representatives will be on-site to serve all veterans, active duty, and their families with these resources:

  • Oakland County Veterans’ Services — Providing information and claims assistance regarding veteran benefits and giving away Meijer gift cards— to be eligible, you must be a veteran and Oakland County resident, and you must present a copy of your DD214.
  • Oakland County Michigan Works! — Providing veterans and their families with career planning, training programs, job search resources, and the opportunity to meet with an employment specialist.
  • Oakland County Neighborhood & Housing Development — Helping residents with housing counseling and more.
  • Oakland County Parks & Recreation — Providing information about recreation opportunities at County parks
  • Oakland Community Health Network — Addressing any behavioral health issues and concerns, including a health screening.
  • Oakland County Health Department — Providing adult vaccines to insured and uninsured alike. Please bring your health insurance card if you have insurance.
  • Oakland Thrive — Providing entrepreneurial workshops
  • VA Suicide Prevention — Providing free gun locks
  • VA Great Lakes National Cemetery — Providing information on VA burial benefits
  • Ride SMART —Providing information on their Veteran transportation program

National Apprenticeship Week RAPIDS Employer Training

Celebrate Natioanal Apprenticeship Week and learn how to use the Registered Apprenticeship Partners Information Database System (RAPIDS.)

Does your company have a Registered Apprenticeship Program, or is in the process of launching one?

Join Michigan Works! agencies from across the region, in partnership with the U.S. DOL, during National Apprenticeship Week for a free, virtual employer training on to learn how to use the Registered Apprenticeship Partners Information Database System (RAPIDS.)

RAPIDS is the required technology platform for managing apprentices, occupations, job openings and other relevant apprenticeship program information.

Did You Know?

There are 660,500 active apprentices in registered apprenticeship programs in the United States today, nearly double the number from a decade ago. In Michigan, there are 21,230 active apprentices in a variety of industries. U.S. Department of Labor, Office of Apprenticeship FY2024.
