The Oakland County Sheriff’s Office has written directives (commonly referred to as polices and procedures or general orders) that govern the conduct of Deputies and/or provide guidance to Deputies in course of their official duties.  The Sheriff’s Office has long since maintained compliance with the Michigan Department of Corrections (MDOC) standards in regards to all corrections related directives.  In 2026, the Sheriff’s Office voluntarily became accredited by the Michigan Association of Chiefs of Police (MACP) Michigan Law Enforcement Accreditation Commission (MLEAC).
