MSHDA Michigan Homeowners Assistance Fund

On Feb. 14, 2022, the Michigan State Housing Development Authority (MSHDA) launched the Michigan Homeowner Assistance Fund (MIHAF) to ease hardships associated with the coronavirus pandemic. The funds are available to assist homeowners mortgage delinquencies, defaults, foreclosure, loss of utilities or home energy services and displacement of homeowners experiencing financial hardships.

"The MIHAF program is much-needed and will help Oakland County residents to keep ownership of their homes. As a MSHDA partner, we support this program in our efforts to prevent property tax foreclosure," said Oakland County Treasurer Robert Wittenberg.

The Oakland County Treasurer's Office is a MIHAF participating partner and has created the following Frequently Asked Questions to help our residents.
