Property Tax Foreclosure Moratorium

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Oakland County Treasurer's Office implemented a property tax foreclosure moratorium for delinquent residential and commercial properties from 2020 through 2021. Therefore, a land sale will not be held in 2021.

Real property tax bills are issued by the city or township treasurer twice each year in July and December. Current local tax information is available by contacting your local treasurer’s office.

When property taxes are not paid to the city or township treasurer by February 28, the delinquent taxes are transferred to the County Treasurer for collection as governed by the Michigan Compiled Law, MCL 211.78.
