Financial Empowerment Center

Established in 2013 through a Community Economic Development Association of Michigan grant (CEDAM), the Financial Empowerment Center partners with Huntington Bank and JVS Detroit and other partners to provide programs to assist Oakland County residents and business owners.

Financial Counseling

One-on-one confidential financial planning, budgeting, credit repair and home mortgage assistance are available for individuals and families to help them achieve your financial goals.

Financial Literacy Boot Camp for Entrepreneurs

This program provides critical financial tools for entrepreneurs who are seeking the opportunity to access more than $5 million in micro-financing from a Huntington Bank grant.

Returning Citizens Entrepreneur Training Center

This program provides free one-on-one business coaching and financial counseling to returning citizens—individuals who have served felony sentences and are interested in starting a business.

Oakland County small business owners who would like information on available business relief grants and loans, including:

  • Emergency Injury Disaster Loan (EIDL)
  • Michigan Small Business Relief Program
  • Payroll Protection Program (PPP)
  • Small Business Administration (SBA)
