The Oakland County Jail is located at:
1201 North Telegraph Road, Pontiac, Michigan
One mile north of M-59 and south of Dixie Highway
The jail is east of the County Courthouse (1200 Building)
All visits take place through a video visitation system and are scheduled on an appointment basis only. Visits are scheduled by inmates. Visiting List information cannot be given over the phone or Internet. Information can be given in person with a current valid State issued I.D.
There is no visitation on Mondays and Tuesdays, with the exception of Professional staff visits. The visiting times for family and friends are Wednesday thru Friday 1pm until 8pm, Saturday and Sunday from 9am until 4pm. The schedule below indicates the days for visiting based on the inmate's last name.

Visit requests must be turned in 3-days prior to visit. All inmate visits are 30 minutes in length. Inmate Workers are allowed two 30 minute visits per week or one (1) hour visit per week, preapproved. Visitors must arrive with a current valid State issued I.D. fifteen (15) minutes prior to the appointment time. If the visitor does not show-up for the scheduled visit the missed visit will count as a visit for the week. If the visitor is late visiting time is lost. The video visitation unit will shut off automatically after 30 minutes. The visitation week starts on Wednesday and runs through Sunday. Inmates set up visits by request. It is the responsibility of the inmate to notify their visitor of the scheduled appointment time.
NO person under the age of 18 will be admitted for any visit. The only exception is made for an "N" dorm Inmate Worker. "N" dorm Inmate Workers may have one child per visit accompanied by an adult.
Non-acceptable clothing: transparent clothing, tank/tube tops, bathing suits, or any other inappropriate attire. Visitors that arrive wearing inappropriate attire as defined above will not be permitted to visit, and there are no exceptions made for this rule.
