It is very important to encourage young people to study hard and explore their potential.
"Student of the Month" is a program that helps achieve this goal by providing students with one more
incentive to excel in their studies.
Sheriff Bouchard started this program while in the Senate as the Chairman of the Education Committee as a way to recognize young people doing good things.
Participating schools decide why and whom to recognize. Selected students receive a certificate and also are role models to others in their class and grade. Over the past three years, over 120 schools in Oakland County have participated in Student of the Month.
