Drug & Alcohol Testing
Urine Drug Tests
Drug test screens are conducted by collecting urine samples and analyzing the sample using an immunoassay testing technique (EMIT). All urine samples are initially screened for dilution and/or adulterants. RESULTS follows drug cut-off levels in compliance with Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) and the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA). Positive drug test results are verified by performing a second immunoassay screen on the urine sample.
Urine Alcohol Tests
Alcohol test screens are conducted by collecting urine samples and analyzing the sample for the presence of ETG, an alcohol metabolite. The metabolite is detectable in urine for up to 80 hours after alcohol has been ingested.
PBTs are conducted on-site for alcohol testing. Clients that are to submit to random alcohol testing may test at one of our sites. If they are unable to report to one of the sites, their PBT Log must be hand-delivered or faxed to one of the sites by 6 a.m. the following business day.
Courts and probation staff receive weekly compliance reports as well as notification of any positive test results the next business day.
