Captain Christopher Wundrach is
the Commander of the Emergency Response and Preparedness Division. Captain Wundrach
was hired by the Sheriff’s Office as a Deputy in 1991. He was promoted to the
rank of Sergeant in 2001, Lieutenant in 2007, and to his current position of
Captain in 2013. In his current role, he is responsible for overseeing the
Sheriff’s Operations Center, Homeland Security, Training Unit, Civil Unit, and
the Specials Weapons and Tactics Team (SWAT).
Captain Wundrach has previously served
as Deputy Commander of Patrol Services and worked in many areas of the
Sheriff’s Office including the, Special Investigations Unit, Road Patrol, Corrections
and the Parks Unit. Currently, he is Commander of SWAT, and is a representative
of the Sheriff’s Office to the Joint Terrorism Task Force, Michigan
Intelligence Operations Center, Department of Homeland Security, and the Major
County Sheriffs’ Association Intel Commanders.
He received his Bachelor of
Science Degree in Criminal Justice from Ferris State University in 1991.
Captain Wundrach has received many awards including a Commendation Certificate,
two Unit Citations, two Professional Excellence Citations, two Sheriff’s
Distinguished Unit Citations, and a Meritorious Service Citation
