Dale A. Cunningham, Ph.D is the Business Manager for the Sheriff’s Office. His duties include the oversight of accounting, budgeting, purchasing, and human resources for the entire agency. Mr. Cunningham has been with the Sheriff’s Office for 30 years in his capacity.
Mr. Cunningham received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting from Lake Superior State University, a Master of Public Administration from Oakland University and a Doctorate in Public Administration from Kennedy Western University. He is a member of the Governmental Finance Officers Association, the Michigan Governmental Finance Officers Association, the Certified Fraud Examiners Association, the International Chiefs of Police Association, the Michigan Associations of Chiefs of Police, and the Michigan Sheriffs’ Association.
He has served as an Oakland Community College Trustee, a member of the Brandon Township Planning Committee, and a member of the Brandon Township Police and Fire Board. Currently, Mr. Cunningham is a Board Member of the Oakland County Credit Union. He has received the Sheriff’s Professional Excellence Award for his service to the agency.
