When sending in your paperwork please include:
A self- addressed stamped envelope for the return of service
Payment (see fee schedule below)
One extra copy of the paperwork.
Payments can be made with Cash, Check or Money Order only,
payable to the “Oakland County Sheriff”.
All Fees are payable in advance and are calculated per person/company, etc… to be served
- Notary fee $10.00
- Fee for service - $26.00 plus mileage.
You may be billed for extra mileage fees if additional service attempts are needed.
Mileage rate is determined from the Sheriff’s Office (Civil Unit) address of 1200 N. Telegraph Rd. to the address of the party to be serviced and back to the Sheriff’s Office – round trip.
Run mileage using Google maps, multiply by 2, multiply by .81 = mileage fee

Additional statutory fees and costs apply to the subsequent
transportation, storage and sale of seized property
Mortgage Foreclosure Postings $40.00 for ea. (flat fee)
Mortgage Foreclosure Sales:
The Civil Unit also conducts the Sheriff’s Mortgage Foreclosure Sales every Tuesday at 10:00am (with exception of a Legal Holiday).
The sales are held in the Oakland County Circuit Court, 1st Floor, Room W128H located at 1200 N. Telegraph Rd., Pontiac, MI 48341
Sales are published in the Oakland County Legal News and the Oakland Press at least 4 week’s prior to the sale. Note: Sales are published in one or the other paper, not both

Purchase amount must be paid in certified funds on the date of the sale.
