Visitation

Modified Service NoticeDue to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) precautions in place, and in an effort to limit public exposure to the contagion, the Oakland County Sheriff's Office is continuing the suspension of certain non-emergency public services until further notice.  Inmate on-site video visitation has resumed as before, but visitors are encouraged to schedule remote visits whenever possible.  Visitors are once again able to visit the Oakland County Jail Lobby to make deposits to inmate accounts, ask questions to staff members, and use the onsite video visitation system if it's not feasible for them to conduct remote visits.  This information is subject to change with any updates to pandemic-related news or CDC guidance. Please visit  Smart Communications to register and schedule your visit.

All inmate visits take place through a video visitation system and are scheduled by the visitor by appointment ONLY. Until further notice, all visits (on-site and remote) will take place through the jail kiosks (NOT the inmate tablets).

Visitors may select the date and time for their visit by creating an account through  Smart Communications. Funds are converted to 'credits' which are used for remote visits (one credit = 0.01). See below for contact information.

Each inmate is allowed one (1) free visit and one (1) paid visit per week. Visits can be either remote or on-site.

Visits must be scheduled at least 24 hours in advance and can be scheduled up to two weeks prior. Visits can be either 15 minutes or 30 minutes long.
