Modified Service NoticeDue to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) precautions in place, and in an effort to limit public exposure to the contagion, the Oakland County Sheriff's Office is continuing the suspension of certain non-emergency public services until further notice.  Inmate on-site video visitation has resumed as before, but visitors are encouraged to schedule for remote visits whenever possible.  Visitors are once again able to visit the Oakland County Jail Lobby to make deposits to inmate accounts, ask questions to staff members, and use the onsite video visitation system if it's not feasible for them to conduct remote visits.  This information is subject to change with any updates to pandemic-related news or CDC guidance.Please visit to register and then schedule your visit.

All inmate visits take place through a video visitation system and are scheduled by the visitor on an appointment basis ONLY.

Visits must be scheduled at least 48 hours in advance and can be scheduled up to two weeks prior. Visits are available Wednesday – Sunday.  There are no visits on Monday or Tuesday.

Only the person who registered as the visitor may visit. There is no cost to visit on-site (at the jail facility)

Off-site visits may be done from a computer or cell phone for a fee of $7.50.  Same rules apply as on-site visits.  

One adult visitor and one child visitor is allowed.  The visitors must be the adult who scheduled the visit and (if there are multiple children in the family) only ONE child at a time per visit.  During on-site visits, children CANNOT be left unattended in the waiting area.

Visitors must have a current valid driver's license, state ID or passport in order to visit.

Proper attire for visitors shall be as follows:  Visitors shall not be permitted to visit/enter the jail facility if they are wearing any transparent clothing, shorts or skirts more than two (2) inches above the knee, tank or tube tops, bathing suits, zippered top or any revealing attire.  Further, any clothing denoting drug, alcohol, or gang affiliation is not allowed.  The Visitation Unit has full determination in whether or not clothing is deemed acceptable for the jail facility.
