Captain Joe Quisenberry

Captain Joe Quisenberry​Captain Joseph Quisenberry oversees the Investigative and Forensic Services Division for the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office.  Captain Quisenberry was hired by the Sheriff’s Office in June of 1976. He was promoted to the rank of Sergeant in 1991, Lieutenant in 1996, and to his current position of Captain in 2013. In his current role, he is responsible for the operations of the Forensic Lab, Auto Theft Unit, Fugitive Apprehension Team, Computer Crimes Unit, Fire Investigations Unit, Narcotic Enforcement Team, Warrants Unit, and Special Investigations Unit.

Captain Quisenberry has been the Commander of the Sheriff’s Office Independence Substation, Rochester Hills Substation, and the Oakland County Narcotic Enforcement Team. He played a key role in the development of the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office DNA Laboratory and reorganization of the command structure for the Narcotic Enforcement Team.

He is a graduate of the F.B.I. National Academy and additionally, attended Western Michigan University, Oakland Community College, and Oakland University. Captain Quisenberry has been awarded many Distinguished Service awards during his career at the Sheriff’s Office.
