"The Oakland County Prosecutor's Office is a team of dedicated professionals committed to seeking justice for all victims of crime and children in need."
The Prosecuting Attorney is the chief law enforcement officer of the County, charged with the duty to see that State criminal laws are faithfully enforced. She represents the People of Oakland County in most State law criminal matters pending before all courts in Oakland County, as well as in the Court of Appeals and the Michigan Supreme Court.
The Prosecutor also advocates for new legislation and reforms in the legal system and provides legal updates and related trainings to police agencies throughout the County. In the Juvenile and Family Courts, the Assistant Prosecutors appear on Delinquency and Abuse and Neglect Petitions. They also seek to establish paternity and child support for minors.
Although the Prosecutor's Office works with the 47 area police agencies, the Prosecutor's Office is not an investigative agency. To initiate a criminal investigation, contact a local police agency or Michigan State Police.
