The block of Pontiac Trail between old and new Wixom Roads

Cats and dogs will be available for adoption.  Adopters must present a valid driver’s license or state ID card. Checks and charge card only.

Meet Your Best Friend at the Zoo

Friday & Saturday
September 16th & 17th

Fri.: 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. 
Sat.: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Detroit Zoo, Royal Oak

Hundreds of dogs, cats, puppies and kittens will be available for adoption from the Michigan Humane Society and approximately 40 additional animal welfare organizations. Adopters must present a valid driver’s license or state ID card. All dogs and cats will have received a medical check-up and age-appropriate vaccinations.

There is no charge for admission or parking for the adoption event. Regular admission and parking fees apply for those visiting the Zoo.

Strollers are not allowed in the tents. Upon entering the event, please see the designated stroller parking area. For health and safety reasons, please leave current companion animals at home.
