Inclusion services are offered so that individuals with disabilities can participate in any program or event hosted by Oakland County Parks and Recreation.
A certified therapeutic recreation specialist coordinates programs for individuals with disabilities and provides training to staff and volunteers to assist individuals during general recreation programs. Partnerships with more than 30 non-profit agencies, schools and disabled sports organizations enable Oakland County Parks and Recreation to cooperatively provide unique recreational options. Voter approval of the 2020 OCPR Millage Replacement and Increase allows us to provide a free Annual Vehicle Permit to Oakland County residents: Seniors (62+), active military, veterans and persons with permanent disabilities. Learn more here.

DiversAbility Day Macomb
The Disability Network Eastern Michigan and Huron-Clinton Metroparks presents DiversAbility Day Macomb from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 25 at Lake St. Clair Metropark. Participate in free adaptive outdoor recreation activities like shuffleboard, archery, lawn games and wheelchair tennis. There will also be accessible bikes and Ebikes as well as hot dogs and chips available.
