Inclusion services are offered so individuals with disabilities can participate in any program or event hosted by Oakland County Parks.
A certified therapeutic recreation specialist coordinates programs for individuals with disabilities and provides training to staff and volunteers to assist individuals during general recreation programs. Partnerships with more than 30 non-profit agencies, schools and disabled sports organizations enable Oakland County Parks to cooperatively provide unique recreational options. Voter approval of the 2020 OCPR Millage Replacement and Increase allows us to provide a free Annual Vehicle Permit to persons with permanent disabilities. Learn more here.

Spring Vibes Social
Spring Vibes Social, a program for individuals ages 18 and older with developmental disabilities, will include music, dancing and fun activities from 6-8 p.m. April 20. Cost is $10/participant and $5/caregiver. Preregister for this program by April 17. Call 248-858-0916 to register or call or text 248-221-8040 for program questions and information.

Disability Dirt Days
Paired safely with a volunteer driver, individuals with physical disabilities an experience what it's like to zip through the dirt, bounce over rocks and splash in the water during Disability Dirt Days from noon-4 p.m. May 7, June 4, Sept. 24 and Oct. 22. There will be music and activities in addition to the rides. Food will be available to purchase from Bomb Diggity Dogs food truck. These events are sponsored by LaFontaine Auto Group in partnership with the Disability Network. The programs are free, but preregistration is required by clicking on the flyer link below and scanning the the QR code at the bottom of the flyer. Riders must be at least 10 years old.
