Media Advisory

Media are invited to cover the kick-off of the flu vaccination season and the unveiling of a new emergency preparedness kit for families at the Oakland County Health Division. Kathy Forzley, Health Division manager/health officer will hold a media availability to answer questions about the start of the flu season and about why each member of the family should have a go-kit tailored specifically to him or her.
After, media are welcome to take an escorted tour of the Health Division’s flu vaccination clinic. They also will see a display that shows the contents that should be included in household emergency kits for adults, children, seniors, family members who have special needs, and pets.
This all takes place on National Get Ready Day when Health Division will hold a Public Health Open House and free health fair (see accompanying press release) with blood pressure and BMI screenings, displays for infant safe sleep and child passenger safety, as well as information on flu, adult vaccinations, substance abuse, healthy eating, exercise, West Nile Virus, food safety, and more.
