Pontiac, Michigan -- Oakland County Executive L. Brooks Patterson remains hospitalized and is stable this morning at McLaren Oakland Hospital in Pontiac following surgery for orthopedic injuries that he sustained in a two vehicle accident late Friday afternoon.
"He is doing great," said Dr. Tressa Gardner, director of emergency services at McLaren Oakland.
Many around Michigan have expressed positive thoughts and prayers for Patterson through social media, emails, and other methods of communication. Patterson and his family are aware of the outpouring of support and expressed their gratitude to all the well-wishers. Meanwhile, Patterson's family requests that the media continue to respect their privacy and direct all questions to the County Executive's Office.
Chief Deputy County Executive Gerald Poisson is currently handling the day-to-day operations of the county's executive branch.
