A "metadata" document has been created for much of Oakland County's GIS data. This document contains information such as:

  • how and when the data was created
  • the frequency and type of maintenance
  • spatial reference information

To obtain any of this data, use one of the following methods:

  1. Check if the data is available for free download from the Access Oakland Open Data Portal.
  2. If you are a representative from a local unit of government and are using the information on behalf of that government agency, please contact the Oakland County Information Technology Service Center at 248.858.8812 or by email at
  3. If you are a non-governmental agency, please contact the Oakland County One Stop Shop at 248-858-0720 or
