Oakland County Legal Resources Center (LRC)

The Legal Resources Center is serving its clients virtually. The center is permanently closed to in-person visitors. 

Assistance is currently available by phone and email only, Monday through Friday, between 9 a.m. – 12 p.m., and 1 p.m. – 4 p.m. Legal Aid Clinics will be hosted on a pre-arranged basis with a schedule to be announced. For any additional questions, please email oclib@oakgov.com or call 248-858-0012.

Find court forms at the Michigan Supreme Court SCAO site and self-help legal information and forms at Michigan Legal Help. Qualifying individuals can find legal help through Lakeshore Legal Aid.

 Virtual (Remote) Legal Aid and Defender Clinic - June 9, 2021

The Oakland County Legal Resources Center has partnered with Legal Aid and Defender Association, Inc. to find a solution to continue offering free legal assistance on civil, non-family law issues to low-income individuals while ensuring the health and safety of participants. 

  • In-person legal aid clinics remain suspended due to COVID-19. 
  • Offices remain closed, so walk-ins are prohibited
  • The next clinic will be held on Wednesday, June 9 from 9 AM to 3 PM.
  • Registration for the virtual clinic must be done in advance on Monday, June 7 or Tuesday, June 8 from 9 AM to 3 PM by calling 248-858-0012
  •  Sessions are on a first come, first served basis.
Attorneys from Legal Aid and Defender Association, Inc. will inform individuals about court procedures and forms, advise them on their rights, and in some cases, represent them in court.
