Employee Health and Wellness Benefits

Eligible employees working for Oakland County are offered an extensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, disability, life insurance, wellness screening and education, and an Employee Assistance Program (EAP). 

Oakland County offers a choice of medical options. This coverage provides for hospitalization, lab work, prescriptions, office visits and more.

Dental coverage is provided. Coverage includes prevention, x-rays, surgery, dentures, orthodontics and more. Vision is covered by Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Michigan. It includes eye exams and eyeglasses.

Disability and life insurance are provided through Hartford. Disability protection could extend to age 65 if needed. Life insurance includes an accidental death provision.

Each fall, full-time employees are given the opportunity to choose from multiple medical, dental, vision, life, healthcare and dependent care reimbursement account options through the Oakland County Natural Select flexible benefits program. In this manner, employees can tailor the benefit program to meet their changing needs.

The Employee Assistance Program (EAP) is offered confidentially to you or your family members who have a problem. At no cost to you, the program helps identify problems that may interfere with job performance, and/or helps resolve issues related to a personal situation.

The OakFit Wellness program is available to all employees.  This program offers on-site health screenings, exercise programs, educational resources and incentives.
