The Emergency Preparedness Unit protects the public's health and safety by preparing for all types of emergencies such as natural disasters, disease outbreaks, and/or chemical spills. Emergency readiness in the community is enhanced by developing strong relationships with local partners, first responders and educating the community. All citizens are encouraged to learn what type of emergencies may impact their communities, schools, workplaces and/or businesses. Being knowledgeable about community hazards and vulnerabilities helps you be ready during a crisis.
