The Oakland County Medical Examiner’s Office is committed to exhausting all efforts to identify every decedent that comes through our door. Our office strives to obtain positive identification through several methods, including:

• Visual Identification
• Fingerprints
• DNA
• X-rays
• Dental Records

Unfortunately, for some cases, we are unable to obtain a positive identification through these methods. When all efforts have been exhausted, we look to the public to help identify the deceased.

Oakland County has no unidentified persons at this time, if you are in search of someone, please call our office

If you are unable to locate an individual here, another option is the National Missing and Unidentified Persons System (NamUs) which includes unclaimed, unidentified, and missing persons.
