A valid (active) email address is required to register for an Oakland County Public Account. The email address will serve as the username for the account. Public Accounts also require:

• Last name
• First name
• Password (provided at confirmation)

The password of the Oakland County Public Account is independent of your email password. The use of different passwords for your email and Oakland County Public Account is strongly recommended. The password of the Public account has the following restrictions:

• Minimum length: 10 characters
• Expiration: Every 90 days
• Composition: Must be composed of three of the following four categories - uppercase (A-Z), lowercase (a-z), numeric (0-9), or special characters (!,*,=,:,$,#,%).
• Composition: No more than 2 consecutive characters (i.e. a user's password cannot be AB1aaa).
• Composition: Cannot contain the username, first name or last name of the account.
• History: Must be different from the previous ten passwords.

If an Oakland County Public Account password is forgotten or has expired, the password can be reset by clicking the Reset Password button above. The password reset process sends an email containing instructions that can be used to reset the password.

Password Hints are required to look up passwords. If you have not set your password hints, please call the Service Center.

An Oakland County Public Account password now requires answering a security question before it can be reset. Please visit the Set Password Hints page to set up your security questions and responses.

Users may update or add additional account information to their user profile. This is done by logging into the profile update system with a valid Oakland County Public account username and password.
