The Infrastructure Services Division of the Department of Information Technology is comprised of the following Operational Units:

Division Functions

  • Managing and supporting the County-wide network infrastructure, including monitoring, security, configuration, and troubleshooting.
  • Operating and maintaining OAKNet, the County’s fiber optic network that connects cities, villages, and townships to enable secure data and video communications.
  • Administering and maintaining servers that support applications, infrastructure, file, and print services, including operating system upgrades, patch management, capacity planning, security monitoring, and antivirus protection.
  • Supporting and maintaining legacy infrastructure systems.
  • Researching, evaluating, and implementing emerging technologies and new systems.
  • Establishing and maintaining standardized platforms and methodologies across cloud, compute, storage, networking, workstations, databases, and middleware environments.
  • Administering application databases and related tools, including database design, security, performance tuning, monitoring, and reviews.
  • Ensuring disaster recovery readiness, data protection, and data recovery capabilities.
  • Providing 24/7/365 production operational support.
  • Managing workstation deployment and support, including desktop software, peripheral configuration, maintenance, delivery, and issue resolution.
  • Maintaining inventory control of all IT assets, including hardware, software, supplies, and accessories.
  • Managing office and mobile phone devices and associated telecommunications services.
