Oakland County administers loan programs tailored to the needs of expanding companies, organizations and entrepreneurs.  The BFC administers the SBA 504 Loan Program which provides long-term, low-rate, fixed-asset financing for health, expanding companies in Michigan.

A collection of business , education and community leaders who make recommendations to the county executive on how county government can more effectively meet the needs of the business community in four areas: economic development, quality of life, transportation, and workforce and education.


CySAFE for Business CySAFE for Business

A free information technology security tool to help businesses and local governments assess, understand and prioritize their IT security needs. CySAFE was created through a collaborative effort, driven by five Michigan counties and the state of Michigan to develop a free IT security tool to help small- to mid-sized businesses and local governments assess, understand and prioritize their IT security needs.


Economic Development Corporation (EDC) Economic Development Corporation (EDC)

Oakland County administers loan programs tailored to the needs of expanding companies, organizations and entrepreneurs. The EDC issues tax-exempt bonds for fixed assets for qualified manufacturing businesses and non-profit 501 (c)(3) organizations.


Economic Growth Alliance Economic Growth Alliance

The Economic Growth Alliance (EGA) of Oakland, Genesee, Lapeer, Livingston, Macomb, Shiawassee, and St. Clair counties was formed in 2009 to collaborate on key legislative, economic development, planning, and promotional initiatives. The seven-county group is the first known regional alliance of its kind in Michigan and represents 3 million residents.

The North Oakland Household Hazardous Waste Consortium (NO HAZ) provides residents with a safe, reliable and environmentally responsible way to dispose of household hazardous waste.


Oakland County Business Connect Oakland County Business Connect

An online registry designed for any of the county's 38,000 businesses to build their business locally while securing opportunities with some of Michigan's largest companies. The county partners with the Michigan Economic Development Corporation and the Pure Michigan Connect directory.

An online competition that seeks the top young professionals and thought leaders who live or work in Oakland County. The 40 honorees have achieved excellence in their field and contribute to the quality of life in their communities.
