Automation Alley is Michigan’s leading technology business association, connecting companies and organizations with talent, resources and funding to accelerate innovation and fuel Southeast Michigan’s economy. Since its founding in 1999, the nonprofit has grown to include nearly 1,000 tech-focused members in businesses, education and government. Automation Alley focuses its efforts in five areas: advanced manufacturing, defense, entrepreneurship, international business and talent development.

Oakland County’s One Stop Shop Business Cent​​er provides many services to startup and second stage businesses, including confidential small business counseling, market research, training and access to SBA loans and capital. For start up businesses our ​WalkIn/StartUp program offers immediate counseling, no appointment necessary, on Thursdays in Waterford and the 1st Thursday of of the month in Novi.

OU INC is a SmartZone Business Accelerator, in collaboration with the City of Rochester Hills, Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC) and various industry partners. The organization’s focus is in the energy, medical device, and information technology sectors — providing entrepreneurial resources and strategic business solutions for developing business ventures and accelerating ideas to market. OU INC fosters a healthy environment for the growth of new start-up companies and provides support for existing entities through its facility and business development resources.

The SBDC Tech Team helps improve the rate of success of tech clients in launching businesses and becoming profitable through their coaching, insights from past experience, common language/processes and networking to relevant 3rd party resources.

Walsh College LaunchPad offers one-on-one consulting to help students and alumni develop and grow their ideas into a business — helping with business plan evaluation, developing a team, strategy and basic business guidance. The confidential consultations are done with members from the LaunchPad team as well as with special mentors from the business community who volunteer their time to share their experiences and insights.
