In compliance with the
Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990, the Sixth Judicial Circuit Court of the State of Michigan and the Oakland County Probate Court seek to ensure that qualified individuals with disabilities have equal and full access to the judicial system through implementation of a joint
Local Administrative Order.
If you have a disability and require special accommodations to participate in court events or access court resources please complete either the Circuit Court
Request for Accommodations Form or the Probate Court
Request for Accommodation Form and return it as instructed on the form. If you cannot access the form or have questions about accommodations, please contact the Court ADA Coordinator at (248) 858-5579. Please note that if you are seeking accommodations for service as a juror in one of the
District Courts please visit the webpage of the specific court that appears on your summons.
If you have made a request and your request has been denied in whole or in part by the ADA coordinator, you may request a further review on the either the Circuit Court
Request to Review Accommodation - MC70a or the Probate Court
Request to Review Accommodation - MC70a form. This request must be submitted to the ADA coordinator and will be reviewed by the Chief Judge or their designee.
If a person alleges that the court's ADA procedures or practices, outside of specific requests for accommodation, result in discrimination on the basis of disability as to the provision of services, activities, or programs of the court, the person may file a grievance, following the
Circuit and Probate Court Grievance Policy.
For more information on Oakland County's Grievance Procedure under The Americans with Disabilities Act visit the County's Accessibility site.
