To apply online:
Complete the Application for Marriage License form with information for both parties who are to be married by selecting the Continue option below (do not click Continue until you have read all steps on how to apply). You will be given a confirmation number once you complete the form, which verifies that the application has been accepted. Do not call the office to ask if your license is ready. We will print it out when you come in to pay and pick it up.
- Bring your confirmation number, valid identification, social security numbers and birth certificates (or passports) for both parties to the Oakland County Clerk's Office after the required three day waiting period (see table below). Although you can apply for a marriage license online, all marriage licenses must be picked up in person from the Oakland County Clerk's Office, 1200 N. Telegraph Rd, in Pontiac.
- Both parties do not have to be present to pick up the marriage license at our office once the required three day waiting period has elapsed. However, that person must provide photocopies (front and back) of all required ID for the other party.

Please Note: Your marriage license will expire 33 days from the date of application. Do not apply if your ceremony will be held more than 34 days from today.
