The Register of Deeds office will be limiting the number of customers we service in our office and will do so on appointment - only basis for recording services only. You may call 248-858-0606 to schedule an appointment - please note, you may not be able to make a same day appointment. Your documents must be filled out prior to yourappointment. Publice computers, property searches, customer document preparation areas are not available in office at this time. We encourage you to utilize our Online or mail services as much as possible.

All individuals doing business within our office must wear a mask or face covering. Please do not bring anyone with you unless his or her assistance is necessaryto help you during the appointment.

The Register of Deeds Office creates a public record for all land situated in Oakland County. This includes deeds, mortgages, foreclosure records and personal property filings. By using US Land Records or Super Index you can obtain copies of any recorded document(s) which date back to January 1, 1964, with the exception of subdivision plat maps.

Documents recorded with our office are scanned and microfilmed using the most modern methods to ensure safety and replacement at any time. Recorded documents are indexed and returned to the submitter in a prompt manner by U.S. Mail, unless otherwise noted.

Please note: The Register of Deeds office does not handle birth certificates, other vital records or UCC filings for transferring utilities.
