COVID-19 Information
The Oakland County Register of Deeds Office is open for in-person services by appointment or walk-in. Customers with an appointment will take priority over walk-in customers. We encourage you to mail in documents for recording. Please call 248-858-0606 to schedule an appointment. Public areas remain unavailable in office at this time.
ATTENTION: Please note that as of October 18, 2021 the US Land Records platform will no longer be operational. All functionality will be transferred to
https://www.ocmideeds.com and the Oakland County SuperIndex. Amended subscription levels will be part of this change as well. Please email
deeds@oakgov.com with any questions, including about training opportunities. The Register of Deeds Office creates a public record for all land situated in Oakland County. This includes deeds, mortgages, foreclosure records and personal property filings. By using Oakland County Super Index you can obtain copies of any recorded document(s) which date back to January 1, 1964, with the exception of subdivision plat maps.
Documents recorded with our office are scanned and microfilmed using the most modern methods to ensure safety and replacement at any time. Recorded documents are indexed and returned to the submitter in a prompt manner by U.S. Mail, unless otherwise noted.
Please note: The Register of Deeds office does not handle birth certificates, other vital records or UCC filings for transferring utilities.
