Act 641 Solid Waste Planning Information

The Solid Waste Planning Committee was established by Public Act 1994, No. 451. The purpose of the Committee is to assist in the preparation of a Solid Waste Management Plan pursuant to Michigan Compiled Law, M.C.L. 324.11533.

The Committee consists of four individuals from the Solid Waste Management Industry, three individuals from the general public, two individuals from environmental interest groups, one individual from the Southeast Michigan Council of Governments, one individual from county government, one individual from city government, and one individual from township government.  All serve 2-year terms.  The Committee meets at the discretion of the Chairperson, who is elected by the Committee.
