Solid Waste Planning Committee

The Solid Waste Planning Committee was established by Public Act 1994, No. 451. The purpose of the Committee is to assist in the preparation of a Solid Waste Management Plan pursuant to Michigan Compiled Law, M.C.L. 324.11533.

The Committee consists of four (4) individuals from the Solid Waste Management Industry, three (3) individuals from the general public, two (2) individuals from environmental interest groups, one (1) individual from the Southeast Michigan Council of Governments (SEMCOG), one (1) individual from county government, one (1) individual from city government, and one (1) individual from township government. All members serve 2-year terms. The Committee meets at the discretion of the Chairperson, who is elected by the Committee.
