Personal:

Commissioner Michael J. Gingell lives in Clarkston with his wife, Jessica, and their five children.  He graduated from Oakland University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration.  He also earned a Master of Business Administration Degree from Wayne State University.

Commissioner Gingell is a Sr. Vice President at Wiland Automotive and is serving his 4th term as Chairman of the Commission, making him the longest serving Chairman in the history of the Oakland County Board of Commissioners. Under his leadership, the County has contracted to provide police services to Pontiac, acquired the water treatment facility from Pontiac, formed the Oakland County Arts Authority, established webcasting for Board meetings, outsourced portions of the County library to the Rochester Hills Library, and has maintained a rolling 3-year balanced budget and AAA bond rating.
