Oakland County Airports

COVID-19 OPERATIONS UPDATE

As we navigate through these uncertain times, the safety and well-being of our airport users and guests remains our top priority. As an essential service to the community we serve, Oakland County Airports remain operational while implementing the following additional steps to help stop the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic while we serve you with as little disruption as possible.

  • Use of public terminals will be restricted to essential services only. Public meetings will be re-scheduled and conference rooms closed for gatherings until further notice.
  • Administrative offices will remain open during regular business hours with a reduced staff as those who are able will work remotely from home.
  • OCIA Maintenance and ARFF support will continue to provide the required support services to ensure safe and healthy operations.
  • Emphasis on practicing good hygiene, maintaining a clean work environment and utilization of social distancing will be in full force.

Oakland County Health Services is providing regular communication and instruction to ensure we do our part to flatten the curve and contain the spread of COVID-19.

From our family to yours, please remain vigilant, stay safe and healthy, and support those that may need some extra assistance around you. We are all in this together.

Oakland County is proud to manage 3 airports, including Oakland County International Airport, which ranks as the 99th busiest airport in the nation with 131,294 takeoffs and landings.  It is ranked as the nation's thirteenth busiest general aviation airport and second to Detroit Metro in Michigan (2017 data).

Over 1/2 million passengers and pilots pass through the airport every year.  More than 554 private and corporate aircraft are based here.  In the course of a year virtually all the Fortune 500 companies use the airport. The airport contributes over $584 million to the County's economy each year. The aggregate tax contribution of airport businesses ranks the OCIA community the second highest taxpayer in Waterford Township.
